Both Boulez and Bowie were great musicians.
Bowie was tremendously influential across culture including in classical music (Peter & The Wolf, "Low" and "Heroes" Symphonies, etc.).

I have all of Bowie's albums, all of Boulez's compositions and a good number of his works as a conductor and I think Bowie's death is more significant.

But that's not true. Pretty sure even as a whole Bowie has had more influence on music and people's live than Boulez. Not to mention that outsise his conducting, Boulez also represents in his composition and his writings on music everything I dislike about what 20th Century Classical became and in a way also everything I dislike about /mu/
