You're thinking of marilyn manson

Awesome album with a neat concept. I would say it's sort of inferior to his modern work in a lot of ways, though. Parts of it are still timeless, however.

Good album but literally everything NIN did before and after this was shit.

One of the top 10 albums of the 90s, but most of /mu/ is too contrarian to admit it.

I love Reznor's instrumentals, Ghosts was fuggin' great.

Its good, the lyrics are a little too edgy for their own good sometimes. That's not to say lyrics can't be depressing or anguished, for example Mr. Self Destruct has amazing lyrics. It's just tracks like the religion bashing one where it gets a little tedious.

fantastic instrumentals

Reznor is god. The downward spiral is a great album, some of his other stuff flipped but keep listening to him.
>>
Better than Sabbath's Paranoid
>>
thirlwell > reznor > all other industrial ever
>>
>>61624652
the lyrics are a bit more palatable when you think of them as being said by different characters since it's a concept album

Alongside with spiderland, my personal 10/10

Coil is up there pham
I never liked other industrial but I like those 3 enough I don't care to rank them.

Trent Reznor has never been known for having good lyrics. The lyrics in his entire body of work have been consistently cringe worthy.

I give him credit for very compelling, forward thinking instrumentation however. Putting aside the edgy lyrics, still one of my favorite and one of the most relevant musicians of modern music.
