i've been to coachella twice and bonnaroo once. i don't go to festivals to have a good time with my friends. it's a bonus, but i can do that anywhere else for free.
that bullshit about everyone at festivals being super nice and friendly is a complete myth born out of woodstock wannabes. every once in a while you'll meet some cool people, but the majority of festival goers are drugged out narcissists who want nothing to do with you. i've done psychedelics at a festival and it was one of the most hostile environments i've ever tripped in. people who go to festivals for the experience are the cancer killing them. it's expensive as hell and i would only want to pay if i was going to get to see a bunch of good acts.
it's called a music festival not a hippie orgie festival (i would be fine with the latter if it didn't cost as much as a festival)

The problem with festivals the last few years is that lineups are just the same over and over. If you've been to a festival at all in the last 2 years then you'll have seen 90% of every lineup that comes out this year.
