What do you guys think the future of music will look like?
I think it will go in a more multimedia approach. Taking sounds and visuals from many genres from other art mediums. It's already happening with memegenres like vaporwave.

Rap into pop music
That's what Peter Gabriel thought, too, and just look how well releasing albums as interactive CDs worked out for him.
Generative music, infinite novelty preformed by sims
New Complexity shit like Ferneyhough

They thought back when CDs became the norm.
SPOILER: They were fucking wrong

In the 80s hip hop and electronic music sampled a lot. I also know Nine Inch Nails in the early 90s sampled a lot from movie sound effects and shit

well, more or less. it still takes some amount of skill and vision to gain recognition on soundcloud. with instagram, it takes 0 skill or vision to get recognized shit work recognized. so maybe soundcloud is like the pre-ig medium, like flickr or sum shyte.
Was thinking about this yesterday
I think there will be more songs/pop songs with mostly acapella layering/sampling. Interesting developments.
Turning voices into synth like sounds etc in order to get more interesting sounds and melodies
