I recommend ['ramp] if you're looking for modern-ish Berlin school/dark ambient
I only listened to their first 2 so far, but iirc it's fro the same guys from Redshift and ARC, that are good modern BS groups too
fun fact: I made that pic back in the day based on one of my close friends, I still laugh internally whenever I see him.

That's a strange selection of 'real ambient' tho, Alio Die is not that different from what people call backpambient
this is ambient ive made it myself

check out dj spooky
Does anyone know of more ambient that integrates natural field recordings so wholly into the compositions? I love how this makes them not just a background but the actual music.
The only things I can think of that come close are Rafael Anton Irisarri - The North Bend and Olivia Block - Heave To

Biosphere used some stuff he recorded himself in N-Plant, but it's not really that noticeable
There's Gas, but you probably already know that
Hmm I'm sure there's more but I can't think of anything right now

Gas seems pretty good so far, thanks. Honestly I've never payed too much attention to ambient outside of the basics until Below Sea Level caught my ear for some reason, so rec just about anything you know because it will most likely be new to me.
>>61429611
That's one of my AOTYs for sure.
>>61429669
This is excellent so far. Thanks.

Well I'm listening to Alio Die with Mathias Grassow right now and it has nature samples so check that one, it's "Expanding Horizon"
Shenzou by Biosphere uses rain samples I think? Over Debussy compositions
If you want something dronier try Lawrence English and Thomas Koner... I don't dig it a lot honestly because it feels too cold for me

I'm really enjoying Shenzhou so far.
lol who cares about ambient music its all pointless
