Honestly, given his lifestyle the fact that he still lived that long and was touring almost to the end is pretty remarkable.
He probably had cancer for a while but didn't realize it because he's been waking up feeling like shit every day for the last 60 years from the constant drugs and booze
He's been having serious health problems for a couple years though.
