Meme footwork will become the next shitty genre criticism. You can already see it happening with Jlin's overrated as fuck album Dark Energy basically being the TPAB of footwork and that one dude who keeps spamming that Mark Fell collaboration album as the best footwork album of last year any time someone talks about the Jlin album positively.
Vaguely defined post-vaporwave music will continue to made under nondescriptive genre terms like hypergrunge even though the music has nothing to do with what the name implies or Lopatin's original usage of it. The guy who made pic related will release a cult classic of this post-vaporwave movement and will define/prototype the sound of a new movement or at least a new subgenre of vaporwave.
SOPHIE will hopefully release a god-tier album and continue to blow the rest of the PC Music crowd out of the water. Something good will likely come of his and AG Cook's QT collaboration.
Holly Herndon will release some music (likely not a full album) that sounds different enough from 0PN that they won't really be compared anymore and will be good enough to push her 'voice music' concept into much more interesting grounds. The next full album she releases with these ideas fully realised will be at least an 8.5/10.
