My dad just made me spend 20 minutes watching a video of a Bon Jovi concert. He kept asking me if I had "chills".
Is there anyway to save your parent's taste in music? Maybe I could tell him Bon Iver was inspired by them or something.

>Bon Iver
At least your dad doesn't play you Shortnin Bread on a Honky Tonk piano for 3 hours straight

not really
you just grew up in different periods so you're bound to like different music, hell, your dad was probably trying to "save" your taste in music after he heard some shit you were listening to
usually ambient or trip hop are very easy to get into for rockists, mostly due to traditional rock instrumentation and large soundscapes found in stuff like Pink Floyd, The Who, etc.

Bon Iver is even worse than Bon Jovi.
I didn't have as much a problem with Bon Jovi, but watching a video of them perform a song in 2015 is just dumb. I'd rather see a video when they weren't dead inside.

He's not the one that needs saving here, Anon.

Just play him some Neutral Milk Hotel and tell him they're really big online
My nephew made me listen to Bon Iver for 20 minutes. He kept asking me if I wanted a "fedora".
Is there any way to save your kids taste in music?

play him Shortnin Bread
My dad and I both like cool jazz, we mostly listen to Dave Brubeck and Miles Davis. It's not hard to find common grounds with your dad if you as much as fucking try.

Your dad's taste in music may be bad but...
>Bon Iver
