I don't really get collecting Vinyls. I have a few, but I don't think I'd ever get into collecting them like I do with CD's. Does anyone collect CD's like most people do with Vinyls?
Just a few I picked up yesterday.
Can we please kill the term "vinyls"
I think /mu/ should just call them LP's to avoid newfigs using the term "vinyls"

I have a shitton of CDs for my car (half price books is a wonderful place) but only have around 10 vinyl records

this, holy shit
they're called records or LPs
you might as well call CDs "plastics"

lots of people collect CDs but they're such a lifeless and unexciting format compared to vinyl, it's not a shocker it's smaller market
although some really great albums have exclusively been released on CD (fucking Flood)

Christ I didn't think it was such a sensitive word

Really? I've never felt that way when listening to a record. I prefer the quality of the CD.
CD is the best music format.
CD can't be destroyed because of a bad needle, room temperature and whatnot.

I'm pretty sure if you smash a CD with a bad needle in a steaming hot room it would get destroyed

In 30 years they'll be completely rotted away
>>61392976
ummm yeah but you don't need no needle to play a CD, why would you smash a needle against it ?
What i mean is that you can ruin a LP by simply listening to it and by storing it incorrectly.

I do
I got about 5 swans CDs for Christmas that I gifted myself
Swans are Dead is STILL in the mail

Vinyl has more aesthetic

I haven't been collecting records since I only recently acquired a record player, but I'll probably start collecting both pretty much equally. Same with cassette tapes
