Why are all the Faust collabs so fucking good? Check out the Nurse With Wound collab too, if you like either of those artists
Probably because Dalek and NWW are both amazing acts in their own right

To be honest friend I think that's dalek's weakest release, and couldn't help but wonder if it was something they couldn't do on their own; I fail to see the significance of Faust's involvement in it.

I have yet to listen to much Dalek aside from the first couple tracks off Silver tongues from mouths of gods (or whatever it's called) I really liked this though. should I listen to all of Silver tongues or a different one?

lol just checked and it's filthy tongues. Silver Tongues is a very different band haha

Absence and Abandoned Language are their best two. I don't know why /mu/ jerks off to Gods and Griots so much. It's not their most popular nor their most acclaimed.

If you ask me man all of dalek's stuff is very much worth a listen. But I suppose the essential stuff are their first three albums + their Untitled record.

Abandoned Language is fantastic, the title track is easily one of the best hip-hop songs ever created. Problem is it says everything Absence already said except less noisily.
Negro Necro Nekros is their best work I feel. Perfectly balanced. 5 tracks, one explicitly about hip-hop, the other abstractly about hip-hop, two about the state of the world, and one about depression and alcohol. And sonically it's just perfect, it has a certain mixing that none of the albums after it could catch somehow.

And I think From Filthy Tongue has a lot more highs than any other of their albums. Black Smoke Rises, Spiritual Healing, Forever Close My Eyes, and Classical Homicide really elevate that album for people.
Gutter Tactics has some gems too, although it's more like Abandoned Language part 2, but Oktopus really stepped up his game with the production. Atypical Stereotype is pleasing in ways I can't explain to my ears.
