Anon/OP here, both versions have completely different feelings, and I enjoy both a lot, but I'd definitely have to go with the original. It's just so much more in-your-face and powerful feeling than the remake.

Same feeling I have. The 1979 version fits well with George Harrison Self Titled but the song itself was amazing in its earliest inception. Much more metallic sounding guitars.
