Eh, I found his songs fairly boring.

>Most important member of the Beatles from 1968-1970.
That's Paul

>Responsible for 35% of Revolution 9.
is that meant to be a good thing?

>Had 4 amazing songs on The White Album and could have had more (believe me, he had the songs available. Ex: All Things Must Pass) had it not been for Lennon/McCartney's egos and the legal setup that only allows him a few songs per album.
He only had four songs and he still manages to fuck it up. Although I like Savoy Truffle and Long, Long, Long are mediocre at best.

>Best songs on Abbey Road
maybe. My favorites "You Never Give Me Your Money" though

>Most dynamic, diverse, and technically interesting pair of songs on Let It Be
For You Blue is shit

>Objectively had the best solo albums
that would be Plastic Ono Band

>Started the best dadrock supergroup (better than Michael Jackson and McCartney's partnership)

Only Page and Jones had any sort of notoriety before joining the band. Plant and Bonham were fresh out of school. Not a real supergroup. Still a super group though.

Savoy Truffle is pretty obviously his worst White Album song.
>>
>>61343139
if george didn't get all indian on us we wouldn't have within you without you, objectively the best song on sgt peppers
>>
>>61343190
I'd say Piggies is but even that one is still good.
>>
>>61343190
savoy truffle is his best song on the white album wtf

>if george didn't get all indian on us we wouldn't have Sonic Youth's version of within you without you, objectively better than anythin on sgt peppers
>>
>>61343199
Love Piggies. But LLL and While My Guitar are both way better than Savoy Truffle. And I think While My Guitar's acoustic demo is way better than the studio album version with Clapton's solo.
>>
I do wish they'd made The While Album a triple album though, they thought about it, and had the material for it, but stopped at two.

Better than being addicted to dancing with Michael Jackson
>>
I think he's the most consistently great, absolutely. I just happen to think John's highs are so much higher than any of the other's. It's just marred by a bunch of middling and shitty lows as well. Whereas George really has very few lows. (In da Beats, that is)
>>
>>61343385
If you take into consideration his technical skill (he played SO many instruments, Paul is the one that gets recognition for being a multi instrumentalist just cause he's paul), his songwriting skills from 1965-breakup, his influence on the group in the 1967/68 period (he lead them into eastern mysticism and dabbled in true psychadelic music more than Paul and Ringo, probably as much as John), and the fact that he was still able to have a successful solo career when the beatles breakup could have easily ruined him, then you could argue he's the best member in their latter period
>>
>>61343558
sure, I can roll with 'being the best', or the most influential, or most important. I just happen to like John more, his better songs are among my all time favorites. If I could sing like one person it'd probably be John, I just dig his stuff
>>
>>61343627
When I think of the White Album, I really think of it as John's album.
>>
>>61343803
Most of the albums are his albums. He generally has the bigger/more important songs and closers. Pepper, Revolver, Rubber Soul, Help, all Lennon-lead records. He was just assertive like that.
>>
>>61343364

>He didn't liked the most honest album in recent music history

It's okay to be a contrarian, anon ;)))
>>
>>61343848
>Pepper
>Lennon-lead
... what? John only wrote 4 songs for that, and the main concept was from Paul. That's probably the most Paul-centric album in their discography.

He did have the best song in the album (A Day In The Life), but many of the things that made it what it is are Paul's contributions.
>>
>>61343873
>John
>honest
Hahahahahahaha
>>
>>61343891
I feel Paul had the concept, and wrote more smaller songs for it, but John was an all around more psychadelic guy and wrote the bigger and more progressive songs on it (ex: Lucy, Goodmorning, Day in the Life)
>>
>>61343891
A Day in the Life is honestly, the real moment of that record. It's what everything leads to. It's also a very drug-focused record, which is a direction they probably wouldn't have gone in if not for his LSD addiction. Paul stitches the whole thing together, though, like with Abbey Road.
>>
>>61343904
I'm the Johnfag in this thread, have you never listened to POB? That album is fucking amazing dude.
>>
>>61343931
Paul is good with writing filler. Very solid filler tracks. But John has always written the meatier tracks that go along best with the underlying themes of the albums. From 1960-1966 the band was undeniably his thing. Paul had his foot in the door from 1967 onward but I think from that point on it the beatles became a horse with 2 masters and couldn't continue due to the power struggle
>>
Paul made everyone work on Maxwell Silver Hammer more than any other song on Abbey Road and it is still in a struggle for last place with Octopus Garden. George dominates that album with only 2 songs, as well as his great guitar and moog work on other songs.
>>
>>61344079
You dislike MSH?
>>
>>61344098
I like it, it's a 6/10 song. It's pretty good. It could have easily been replaced with an 8/10 George song.
>>
Rev 9 sucks.
>>
>>61344119
i think bands from the 60s, especially those with larger discogs, they weren't really concerned with making albums HIT HIT HIT HIT HIT WHOA EVERY SONG IS GREAT, idk, obviously they could have included one of their better songs, but they were making full albums with a certain feeling and were okay with having filler
>>
>>61344143
Rev 9 is great

I rated it as the best sole Paul song of the album. It's also one of the better songs he wrote from 1968/69.
>>
>>61344567
>I Want You
>that low
come on breh
>>
>>61344819
If it was less repetitive, I would excuse the length and I'd rank it higher.
>>
>>61344846
I love how repetitive it is. It drones and swoops and then is all gone in the blink of an eye.
>>
>>61344874
Yah, I do like the white noise at the end. But the riff itself gets boring. I liked johns bluesy soloing in the earlier half and if you listen carefully, Paul is shredding on the bass.
>>
George Harrison had the best solo career desu. I admire how the fame left over from being a Beatle never really got to him, and he was making music for the love of the art rather than the money he would make after releasing an album. RIP George Harrison
>>
>>61344956
Truuuu. Dark Horse, Self Titled, Electric Sound, and Extra Texture: even though they didn't sell well, you could tell George was a true songwriter who care more about art rather than profit. (However, he rushed Extra Texture so he could end his contract)

>Any song over the Medley
>>
>>61345153
Best song in the medley is probably She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, or maybe The End. 3 cool solos. One from that guy that joined Kanye's squad, one from the guy that banged Ringo's wife, and one from the madman
>>
>>61345188
the best standalone song on the medley is You Never Give Me Your Money, if we're talking about hooked up songs, then: Golden Slumbers - Carry That Weight - The End
>>
>>61345226
Can we both agree that the redux of You Never Give Me Your Money that happens at the end of Carry That Weight is chill-inducing and one of the most patrician moments in pop-music history?

The You Never Give Me Your Money piano intro that reprises on Carry That Weight is soul-touching, it's the very first thing I learned on piano.

Thanks based Paul

The first time I listened to Abbey Road, and got to that part, was a very surreal experience.
