This album made me so disappointed yet all of my friend like it
>>
>>61340327
What? How? IT's far and away their best in my opinion.
>The title tracks
>Contraption/Soul Desert
>Robber Barons
>Heavy Doctor

Seriously, how?

are you trolling

to be fair i might say floating coffin could be their best

it's definitely not their worst though jesus murphy
>>
>>61340373
OP here. Sorry. My honest opinion. "Floating Coffin" is god-tier to me. "Help" is close behind. "Mutilator, Defeated At Last", "Castlemania", and "The Master Bedroom Is Worth Spending a Night In" are next. "Warm Slime" and "Cool Death of Island Raiders" next and then "Carrion Crawler". Just some insight on how much I like Thee Oh Sees, I consider "Carrion Crawler" a 7/10. (I don't really consider "Drop" a true Thee Oh Sees album.)

Oh, and I forgot "Putrifiers II", that one is on par with "Help" for me

Brian Eno is my GOAT musician. Pic related is my least favorite thing he's done (an album called 'The Drop').

>>61340327

?!?!?!

Pretty big Oh Sees fan (have listened to 12 of their albums, seen them live 3 times). This is my favorite release and The Dream is their best song imo.

>>61340640

Fair enough desu. I disagree, but I get it at least.

OP here. I saw them recently at FYF. Even though they have a new lineup they still shred. What's you're favorite song? Mine is Toe Cutter/Thumb Buster

They definitely got better as they went along
>>

haha The Dream is my favorite as I mentioned. I was at FYF this year too, although I missed them (I forget what overlapped, but I couldn't make it). Didn't feel that bad about it because I saw them a few months prior at Burgerama.

Toe Cutter/Thumb Buster is a jam. Lots of good songs on that album actually (No Spell takes the cake for me). What do you think of the new album? I like it a lot. They played a few songs from it the last time I saw them live (Sticky Hulks in particular was great live).

>>61340702

Nope. haha

Ty Segall is brought up in the most of the same circles as Thee Oh Sees. While Sleeper is a pretty good album, I feel Ty is at his best when the guitar is plugged in. Melted will always be my go-to for him.

I agree.

Angles at least has Machu Picchu and Under Cover of Darkness, but First Impressions I just can't get into.

I understand why people don't like this one. It's not very Strokes-y. I love it personally. It is a lot harder and darker than other strokes releases. I very much like all their albums. Comedown Machine probably the least for me. I give that one a 6.5/10
>>
>>61341097
>Comedown Machine probably the least for me
It's funny, because I actually liked that one a lot.

Although I have to say that after listening to Tyranny I got a real craving for more JC + The Voidz stuff. Too bad the Strokes have this squeaky clean sound they probably won't totally move away from, but I'd love it if the new Strokes album had some of those Tyranny influences.

In all honesty the quality of his albums after Let's Dance took a nosedive
