Don't call your own test pleb, you like what you like, don't try to force it like some autists here.
Protip: "pleb" and "patrician" are bullshit terms spewed by insecure people with inferiority complexes

Recs: Grizzly Bear, Frank Ocean, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Van Morrison, Neil Young, MF DOOM, LCD Soundsystem, Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti,
>>
>>61337773

That's something a pleb would say
>>

You guys actually think your taste is superior than someone else's? How did you arrive at that conclusion? Just because it's less known doesn't make it better, in fact, there is no fucking "better" it's music you autists, music is 100% subjective despite what you tell yourself to deal with your insecurities. That mentality is cancer, listen to the music you enjoy and let others do the same
>>
>>61337922
you're not necessarily pleb, you're just generic and boring
>>
I'm too normal to be here
>>
>>61337922

The issue is that you didn't even suggest a single album that was obscure in any way, showing that you don't know much about music. I'm one to include a relatively even mix of entry-level and esoteric stuff, because I feel that popularity and quality are irrelevant as opposed to negatively correlated. But your tastes scream someone who came straight out of r/music.
>>
>>61337948
Well that might be true, all those albums are popular as fuck, but it's what i like

>>
>>61338077

>>
>>61338000
How would suggesting obscure albums make a difference? You should not take popularity into account when judging an album, you should just be honest with yourself and decide whether you like the music or not, i've listened to plenty of albums that /mu/ loves that I haven't enjoyed in the slightest. As for the artists i suggested to that anon, (especially Bob Dylan, Nick Drake, Van Morrison, and Neil Young), I know they are extremelly popular, but he seems to like folky singer-songwriters and those are some of the biggest ones in music history, yet he didn't include any of their albums in his chart.
>>
>>
>>61338003
it just indicates youve never looked for music, just been spoonfed
>>
i need to listen to more music
>>
>>61338096
First off, he could easily find those albums himself or probably has already listened to them. Second, not knowing any at least semi-obscure music implies that you don't care enough about music to have listened to anything beyond surface level, not that you only like what /mu/ likes.
>>
>>61338092
Try these if you haven't:
Vampire Rodents - Lullaby Land
Fishmans - Long Season
Faust - Faust
The Sisters Of Land - Floodland
The La's - The La's
Sweet Trip - Velocity : Design : Comfort
Chelsea Wolfe - Abyss
The Pop Group - Citizen Zombie
Black Moth Super Rainbow - Dandelion Lion
Damien Rice - O
Matt Elliott - Drinking Songs
Built To Spill - Perfect From Now On
>>
>>61338201
>spoonfed
>albums
Just think about it for a second, a list of my top 50 albums indicates that i've gone out of my way to listen to music. Someone who has been spoonfed music would only listen to singles or what's popular at the moment, going out your way to listen to hundreds of albums is not being spoonfed
>>
>>61338282
Most of those albums ARE top sellers or have been super popular within the last few years
>>
>>61338241
how would a suggestion hurt though? your getting pissed off over nothing, some other anon suggested belle and sebastian to me, i already know them and have already listened to the record he suggested, and they are a popular band online, but it was still nice of him to look at my chart and give me a suggestion based on what he thinks i would enjoy. No one forced him to do it, but he still did it. And just think about how this argument started, I replied to someone putting himself down by saying his taste is "pleb", meaning fucking /mu/ memes got to him, telling him not to listen to that bullshit and I recommended a couple artists that I thought he might enjoy and that I didn't see in his chart. What's the big fucking deal?
>>
>>61338346
But still, you gotta understand what small percentage of people listen to fucking albums, let alone hundreds of them.
>>
>>61338092
Try these if you haven't:
Vampire Rodents - Lullaby Land
Mr. Bungle - California
Naked City - Torture Garden
Matt Elliott - Drinking Songs
Morphine - Good
Cardiacs - Sing To God
The La's - The La's
Faust - Faust
Daniel Johnston - Hi, How Are You
Stereolab - Emperor Tomato Ketchup
Chelsea Wolfe - Abyss
Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine
Fuck Buttons - Slow Focus
Popol Vuh - Hosianna Mantra
Scott Walker - The Drift
>>
>>61338282
>Well that might be true, all those albums are popular as fuck
>>
>>61338092

>>61332882
Oh I actually know Wreck And Referance
Heard about them on a music forum a while back

Know Full Of Hell as well

>>
>>61338408
Because it makes you look stupid for recommending albums that everyone has already heard. And even then, no one would have cared about your dumb suggestions if you didn't go out of your way to attack anyone who looks a little bit harder for their music by saying that they're "insecure people with inferiority complexes"
>>
>>61338433

"I'm not retarded. My IQ is slightly above 70".

If you're comparing yourself to the lowest common denominator (as in people who only listen to top 40 singles) you're not comparing yourself to much. The albums you suggested are pretty much the next step up in terms of obscurity. And you're not suggesting anything anyone here hasn't listened to already.

I'm a literature and film pleb. I could willingly admit that. But you're in /mu/ here.
