If it took the world 20 years to realise that The Velvet Underground & Nico is a masterpiece, how long will it take for this?

>>

You implying Rifts isn't a masterpiece itself?
>>
>>61309347
We do realise it's a masterpiece though.
>>61310027
>pretentious drivel
Is this what you call all avant-garde music?
>>
>>61310074
Scaruffi gave this a 4/10
>>

What a pleb.
>>
>>61313097
he gave Metal Machine Music an 8/10 though

Jon Holstrom recognized it as a masterpiece immediately, and even said so to Lou Reed's face one night at CBGBs when The Ramones were playing on stage. It's all in the first issue of Punk Magazine.
>>
>>61311720
it's a compilation album of other albums that's missing some of the tracks, so it's not exactly the best way to experience the music
also I just personally don't think his pre-rifts material is quite as good (it's still pretty good tho)
>>
>>61314208
>missing some of the tracks
Are you referring to the 2009 release or the more complete 2012 release? Not to make the point of it still being a compilation release irrelevant, I do see where you're coming from.
>>
>>61313211
>be lou reed
>nerds complain my albums are too poppy and not artsy farsty enough
>release album of me fucking around with feedback as a joke for all the people bitching
>stupid pretentious fuck comes up to me on stage and tells me im a genius

:^)
>>
>>61314339
The 2012 release, which if I remember correctly does in fact miss a few tracks from original releases as I couldn't be confusing it with the 2009 release since I've never had it or compared it's tracklist to the originals like I did with the 2012 version.

>>61315308
Betrayed in the Octagon is the only one missing a track, which was only present in the limited cassette release. Zones without People and Russian Mind are perfectly intact.
>>
>>61315425
Must be thinking of that then. Not surprised my memory of it was that it was too incomplete/rearranged to be worth listening to as a whole, I tend to get autistically purist over this type of shit.

how long until people realize John Cale did it better 10 years earlier (although not released until this century)

I prefer Ama No Gawa

Does anyone else get really happy vibes from this?

Like all the little squeals and chirps sound like exotic birds and wind chimes to me, it makes me feel really relaxed and peaceful

When will this be given the credit it deserves?
>>
>>61316285
it's terrible. it's not even the band.
>>
>>61316285
We're not really going to praise this are we?
>>
>>61316172
are you referring to Sun Blindness Music? that isn't even noise
>>
>>61316239
yep
>>
The only reason vu&nico didn't get praised for 20 years was because it was unknown, not hated
