mew, I have a question for you
>Be me
>Musician forever
>Favorite music has always been music that I, specifically relate to
>Love punk rock and hardcore, eventually get into stuff ranging from My Morning Jacket all the way to Converge. Play in bands all over my town
>Suddenly my longterm GF is pregnant.
>Suddenly I'm a dad.
>Get married.

So now I'm this married, dad, basic AF guitar player, and I fucking hate music. I dont relate, I dont like it. On top of that, I hate Dad-rock. All I can think of when I listen to the radio is the target audiences of the music and how I am not a part of that audience. I just want to listen to well crafted and thought out music without thinking about who the artist is, and how they are nothing like me. I want to fall back in love with music.
Pic related, all I listen to now is the fucking Easy Rider soundtrack because its my favorite movie and I love protest songs.

There's no question in that post OP.
Not even a question mark.
>>
OP- Anyone else have anything similar happen to them?

Shit, your right. I can be airheaded as fuck sometimes, but the point remains"

>Anyone else have anything similar happen to them?

>pregnant
>a dad
>get married

nope, nobody
in all seriousness it sounds like you're lost in the family life so however depressing it may be your best bet is to just give up on your musical dreams
>>
Embrace David Bowie and find your true self
>>

My musical dreams are by far a more complex issue. Right now I just want to like and be inspired by music that I love. It feels like I have forgotten how to do that.

I remember reading a book about him being a total cuck with his wife looking through a keyhole at a security guard fucking her. Thats the first thing I think of when I think of Bowie

the trick is open mindedness when approaching new music. Of course radio won't target you, it doesn't target me or anyone else in this board.

give a new style of music you'd never cared for before a go. Like Folk. Or pop (Idk if you like these)
>>
>>61298362
I swear to god I keep trying this. I like folk btw. And some pop. The problem is more me than the music for sure. I guess I was looking to see how other people have handled my situation

>Love punk rock and hardcore... get into stuff like My Morning Jacket.....

What did OP mean by this?
