Where is /mu/ going?
I've been having a hard time trying to figure out what is serious on this board and what is not serious. Let me explain.
There are so many dumb people making dumb posts and people making dumb responses. Things that only underage plebs would say or take seriously. Every time I go into a thread it is always a whirlpool typhoon tornado storm of "basic-bitch" standard /mu/ irony, done to death le wrong generation bashing, and the inevitable slog of gray mush contrarianism stirred together with its counterpart - the "muh serious opinion fags". It never ends with this crap. Just shit piled on to shit piled on to newfagian yearning for "true music discussion".
THERE IS NOTHING STRIKING ABOUT ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS ON THIS BOARD. NOTHING HAPPENS HERE. YOU HAVE PEOPLE MAKING THREADS ABOUT FANTANO FOR FUCKS SAKE. THAT SHOULD HAVE STOPPED YEARS AGO.

Well yeah.That's why you're only meant to come here for the sharethreads. For any sort of real musical discussion, you're supposed to go to music theory blogs and the like. Heck, even r/MusicTheory is better than /mu/ for actual music discussion.

i don't even look for recommendations on /mu/ anymore, i got RYM charts and stalking peoples' lists for that
I'm only here for shitposting. There are other forums I browse for actual discussion.
What are people expectation of a "good music discussion" ? I can see the point of asking for recommendations and share threads, but a good music discussion is treated here as a permanent goal without anyone ever defining it. All music-related discussions that are not related to music theory are doomed to be just a "I love this band" "me too hehe" or "this is shit m8". There's no good music discussion if you're not discussing theory, you might as well argue about your favourite colour.
