This is a surprising good list
>>61264618
Any Doom or Folk suggestions?
>>61264618
Dismember isn't br00tal aside from some tasteful chugs here and there.
But good list. Adding on some black metal:
2nd wave:
Mayhem - de mysteriis Dom sathanas
Darkthrone - a Blaze in the Northern Sky, under a funeral moon, transylvanian hunger
Burzum - the first 4 albums
Atmoshit:
Weakling - Dead as Dreams
Deafheaven - sunbather
Midnight Odyssey - both albums
Dissonant shit:
Deathspell omega - smrc, fas, paracletus
Jute Gyte's last 4 black metal albums

>Dismember isn't brutal.
Lad...
>>61264819
Suma
Saint Vitus
Melvins (kinda some sludge overlap)
Sabbath
Blue Cheer
>>61264819
>DooM :
I am not very familiar with this genre but Most of Black Sabbath's works, Ghost kinda falls in that category I think too
Folk :
Power Metal, some Heavy Metal bands, Symphonic Black Metal all kinda fit in the Folk metal circle
Tyr, Skyclad, Blut im Augen ect
I'm sorry, not a big fan of these genres
>>61264906
Pretty sure Dismember is Brutal Death
>>61264819
For folk there's like Panopticon and Saor which is really good, don't really know a lot of this genre.
Doom you can start with Pentagram, they were my start in this genre and I really like them, then check Pallbearer, Candlemass and Witchfinder General.
>>61264906
>dismember isnt brutal
motherfucking finntroll
>>61264936
Suma is fucking amazing listen to them op
Reminder that this came from a time when the genre wasn't a parody of itself.
>>61265139

>>61265197
It's simple but it works, what would you prefer?
Megadeth is the best Thrash Metal band ever.
Judas Priest's 2nd and 3rd album are the epitome of heavy metal.
>>61264618
This is a good list, I can't say much about the listed below Death Metal. Add Annihilator to Thrash Metal
>>61264754
Great record
>>61264819
Black Sabbath and Revered Bizarre.
More bands Accept (Heavy), Angel Witch (NWOBHM), Death, Opeth (decent Death Metal), Helloween (decent Power Metal), Isis (Sludge)
>>61265244
If they gonna claim this to be an grind death album they should crank it up a bit
I'm not here to listen to Carcass
Crust technically, but it checks out.
Where does The Sword fit into all of this?
>>61265296
It's from 1997, bordering on the final days of classic death metal, so naturally they were a bit slow, more in the same vein of old school dm. Personally I would find this very easy to mosh to.
>>61264819
I'm not very familiar with folk, but for doom
Classics:
Black Sabbath - The first 4 albums
Sleep - Holy Mountain, Dopesmoker
Electric Wizard - Come My Fanatics, Dopethrone, but really all their stuff is great
More obscure favorites of mine
Conan - Horseback Battle Hammer, again all their stuff is pretty good
Bongripper - Satan Worshipping Doom, Hippie Killer, again, love their whole discography
Slomatics - Esteron
>>61265384
do you think Jerusalem is a bad album? I don't know why people always skip that one
>>61264618
>MoP
>No Melissa
For what purpose?
>>61265139
Shit mang these guys played the first show I ever went to. The Dead Shall Dead Remain is probably my fave album.
>>61265384>>61265384
Sleep is fucking meme metal.
>>61265497
Holy Mountain yes. Volume 1 no.
>>61265458
To be completely honest, I've never given Jerusalem a full run through. I've always heard that Dopesmoker was the superior version. I'll give it a go, just for you
>>61265497
Here's your (You)
>>61264618

If you think that's a good list, leave the hall.

>DEM FEELS
>>61264618
Does no one here like Megadeth's Countdown to Extinction, with their iconic Symphony of Destruction?
>>61265662
Those are both good, Countdown especially. I'm surprised the list left of Peace Sells/Killing is My Business
suffocation "effigy of the forgotten"
suffocation "pierced from within"
cryptopsy "none so vile"
in flames "colony"
megadeth "rust in peace"
>>61264618
Kreator is Teutonic thrash though
strapping young lad "city"
strapping young lad "alien"
>>61264618
