Hi Soma
Real Secrets - 2015 (Compilation)

>House, Night Music
A compilation of some of my favorite stuff I wrote this year.
>>61242534
But You and Get The Fuck Up really worked with me. I think the vocals might be a bit high in the mix for my taste. Get The Fuck Up specifically is a really good house song. Rise is probably my least favorite. Just wasn't a big fan of that one.
>>61242746
This one was super good. The end of Magenta when you bring in the rest of the beat around :50 is wonderful. Wish that part went on longer/developed more because it's really great. Xillé also had a vibe to it that was just really imo very emotionally evocative. I think my only critique would be the cover. I feel like it doesn't represent the music at all.
>>61243134
This cover art is really good. I Almost Had It has this really dark melody that I like. The piano on Disinterest I think works really well. There are a couple points where I wanted the vocals to be more layered or deeper mixed or something. I can't quite figure it out. I also have this issue with a lot of emo though so it might just be me.
>>61243614
thank you.
and i have to agree about the cover art, it's pretty blank.

>>61242534
a lot of really minor tweaking could make this great.
little things like that piano loop on Rise being a little softer or picking a different lead synth for Sunshine could improve the tracks immensely.
that being said, i love your use of the vocal samples. But You did that especially well. it really felt like they were a big driving force in the songs.
>>61243081
shooting out a rec for this guy. his stuff's very relaxing and funky. kind of gives me The Avalanches vibes at points.
>>61243188
i normally hate it when people just release stuff made through that audacity raw data import thing, but i feel like a lot of effort was put in to make this feel like an actual release. i dig it.

Not going to post anything because if you're not within the first 10 replies in BC threads you won't get any recs or feedback. This is because people only pretend to rec on here. Unless you offer feedback, you're nothing but viraling scum and you aren't contributing properly to the spirit of BC threads.

I personally only gave Recs in this thread because most of the genres in this thread are stuff im not interested in. I'm waiting for some more harsh noise. Some of the things in here are stuff I've already given feedback to in previous threads as well.

relatively new E.P., 4 songs recorded studio, one recorded live! its something rather unusual for /mu/. gonna give some feedback now.
>>61244557
Your music sounds like something that should be played in adult swim bumpers
>>61247792
even though its electronic, I get a really Red House Painter-ish vibe from solar, especially on disintegrate. I definitely think you would benefit from a singer, though. Some screechy high female voice with reverb would do the trick. Production-wise, I'm really digging the not overly compressed drums and the slightly wobbly synths, although the bass on saturn does sound horribly out of tune.
>>61247102
I'm reallly enjoying this a lot. Its got a really kind of dry/dusty production to it, and I think it really fits the music. It kind of makes the synths sound a lot more organic than they would with a hi-fi modern production. I also dig the slight swing some songs, especially healthy hours has going on!
https://pusboy.bandcamp.com
>Heavy rock, punk, lo fi, noise
>>61248573
yeah, that's mostly because i wanted a more ambient/dramatic approach with that ep. the "gradient" ep is much more energetic.
>>61246934
I really like the dreamy shoegazey sound of this. Plus corn thins reminds me of some rare 70s psych soul and Bilderbuch's "Gibraltar". delightful child is another stand out track for me. For not getting any equipment to function properly, this sounds ace!
>>61246808
I also really enjoy this one. You got a great low register and 60s country voice, but I think your acoustic guitar could be mixed louder with more midrange. standout tracks: man Im so lonely and bedroom hair

>>61248925
i don't mind at all. i'll take a gander
>>61248925
so, i just finished listening to your ep, and it honestly pretty bad.
i'll start with the positives. i do enjoy a handful off the instrumentals, especially "sedated lobotomy, 40oz". where it all falls apart is with the vocals. there was zero flow, there was no punch to it, it was monotone as shit. it completely ruins the songs for me.
although you seem like an amazingly nice person, i really don't want to lie to you about my opinion.

he's right.
It's actually terrible.
The first two tracks are passable but then it all goes downhill from there.
