No, XO is better than both of them.
>>61201469
this is actually true
Nick Drake has a good voice but his songwriting and playing are shit compared to Niandra LaDes
>>61201532
I love XO but thats obviously not true
>>61201551
Lol, I would like to see you play like Nick Drake. Frusciante is definitely an amazing guitarist, but Nick was also very talented and his finger picking style took a lot of skill. Nick typically isn't praised for his writing or voice, it's more so how everything comes together so well with his playing that makes him so great.

>if it's so easy why don't you do it?
literally the worst rebuttal ever, kill yourself promptly

Nick played in atypical tunings, his songs were his own and many people have tried to replicate them.
>>61201721
>Nick played in atypical tunings
OMG WOOOOOOOOOOW, ATYPICAL TUNINGS!!!
musicians were doing that in the 60s you fucking retard
>>61201736
>musicians were doing that in the 60s
They were doing it well before the 60s, I don't see your point.
>>61201743
my point is that atypical tunings doesn't make Nick Drake's music special. Frusciante's music was far more varied and interesting and didn't depend on an appeal to emotion.
reminder that john frusciante made this album to make money to buy heroin and more than half of the tracks are untitled

>my point is that atypical tunings doesn't make Nick Drake's music special.
I would disagree, and I think you're trivializing Nick's guitar playing.
>>61201768
>Frusciante's music was far more varied and interesting and didn't depend on an appeal to emotion.
Are you kidding me? I like Frusiciante's first two solo albums, but the "wah, I'm a junkie" stuff get's old really fast.
And hell, Frusciante's backmasked recordings are an even bigger gimmick than Nick's tunings that nobody else used.

accurate
>>61201768
Nick Drake didn't make his albums to appeal to emotion, he just wanted to make music. All this other emotion appeal was attributed to Nick because of his life story and depressive state.

This, stop picking on poor Nick. :(

Wasn't that his second album? Not this one

objective truth
No, this is.
