Just listened to Bleach for the first time and already I feel that this album is very special to me. It is also the only album that I would actually argue is "perfect". It not only opened my eyes to underground rock, but also enlightened me on the subject of just how far rock music can go, while still being rock music.
I recently came to the conclusion, in an altered state of mind, that the only reason that this album could be completed in one lifetime is because it wasn't made in one lifetime. In truth it had been in the making since the classical era. Nirvana takes influence from every composer of the modern classical era, including futurism, and combines them all to create the best music ever created. Truly one of the great feats of history.
