The film itself was great but the soundtrack was mediocre.
Yeah I really hated the part in the soundtrack where Han Solo gets stabbed by Kylo Ren in the chest with a lightsaber and falls down the shaft to his death.

I just saw this movie today.
The musical score was very disconnected and absent from the movie.
There was scenes where it was blatant they are pushing a "strong female" lead and the black actor felt like a staple.
All in all it felt very soulless and rushed. IMO this is not a real Star Wars, more of a shitty fanfic.
6/10. I feel bad that the original actors got roped into this.
I'm going to pretend like the series ended with Lucas' films.

I agree, OP. I'm shocked more people aren't talking about it when they try and criticize the film, it was by far the weakest part. Every single other one of the movies, even the prequels, had a great, stand-out track or two. With this, I can basically only remember what briefly played when Rey dragged shit out of the Star Destroyer. That's it.
It literally sounded like one of the generic soundtracks they'd use for the games they couldn't clear the licensing for, so they just had to wing it with a synthetic orchestra and try and make it Star Wars-y enough and fill in the gaps.

Well it never felt absent, it just didn't bring any new interesting themes. It serviced the movie acceptably.

Nah, this was a pretty well-featured movie. A good fusion of the best parts of the original/prequel trilogies.
