If Pitchfork decides to go down this route then they will quickly become a follower rather than a tastemaker (which was already happening). It's the same transition Rolling Stone made, what used to introduce large amounts of people to "the next big thing" is now what it is today. I'm just curious what site will be the Pitchfork of the future. Or maybe the era of music journalism is dying and will be dead soon and the "influencers" will just be random people with Spotify playlists. Who knows at this point.
