what does a killswitch do on a guitar? just turn off the feed to the amp?

He was finally becoming great when he dove headfirst into the pikes. I've only heard 3 pikes, 2 of which were pretty good, so I still think he's pretty good.

There's no such thing as a physical kill switch. It's the pickup switch but you turn off the volume on one of your pickups. This makes it so that when you switch back and forth quickly, it gives the effect of turning your signal on an off in quick succession.
