I'm serious, go through your artists, look which albums you enjoyed in particular and see if they have an album you didn't listen to yet. Then check out related acts by band members, remix albums, EPs, demos and shit, or look up combinations of genres you like. Might find something.

I'm sure you can find a few things you like by doing that, while also getting to 1000 albums, if that's something you really care about.
>>
>>61164502
that's how i've been searching for music for the past couple of years. going through record labels, etc. it's yielded a fuck load of great acts and connections. i just thought it'd be neat to get some recs from others, since i've never really asked before.

like, i'd never listen to >>61164347 in a million years if i hadn't made this thread.

Tiamat - Wildhoney
>>

Should definitely not. garbage band, probably the worst of ska punk. Really work harder, senpai. Don't listen to this even a minute OP you will kill yourself. Stay safe <3
>>
>>61164602

>>61164586

Well, fair enough. I'll just make some general recommendations then, since I have no idea what you like.

>sad music to kill yourself to

Tim Hecker - Ravedeath, 1972

i like the track "my grandfather is a very young man" especially
>>
adding music for the sake of filling your music collection up to some stupid irrelevant number is quite possibly the most pleb thing you can do
>>
>>61165059
>my grandfather is a very young man

this is lovely

>>61165074
"no fun allowed"

i'm going to reach 1000 albums sooner or later, anon. why can't i come on /mu/ and discuss some tunes and get recs? should i have framed the thread differently? don't you have a waifu thread to attend or something?
>>
Here's some various shit I've been digging:
Allen Toussaint - Southern Nights
>Classic New Orleans funk/r&b
Macha - Macha
>fun, experimental post rock that blends traditional Indonesian influences with western rock
Climax Golden Twins - Imperial Household Orchestra
>really disorienting sound collage
The Fire Show - Saint The Fire Show
>experimental post punk, dark but still weirdly fun
Simon Scott - Below Sea Level
>Beautiful, engaging ambient (lol) with a focus on samples from nature
>>
>>61165135
oh my god thank you so much for enjoying it

it's so rare i get to share this with people
>>
>>61164307
I'd say:

Nick Drake - Pink Moon
Beach House - Bloom
The Outfield - Play Deep
Prince - Purple Rain
The Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?
Cat Stevens - Tea For The Tillerman
Elton John - Madman Across the Water
Jim Hendrix - Are You Experienced?

Yes they are lol, that's why I love them. I'm interested to see what you think of Below Sea Level. Also I have one more rec: Bugskull -Phantasies and Senseitions. Probably my favorite post rock album ever, great use of samples and dissonance while maintaining a pop core.
