I've managed to cut down my heroin use to every 7-10 days or so but even using this infrequently, the two or three days following a shot are a mental hell. If I was rich like Kurt I would prob stay loaded too. its not even that I really feel all that worse sober now than before I touched junk, it's just that every moment where I'm sober and I don't feel that great (which is often) is pure torture, knowing there is a very effective escape route available to me for $20 bucks. Just gotta make it to Sunday....

Damn you sounded like me a few years ago. Had a bad habit, then cut down to every week, because I was poor and only got a small amount of money every week and could barely afford it. I know the feeling you mean. The withdrawal afterwards is terrible.
I realized you can't do heroin in moderation. It's just impossible. I'll never touch the shit again and I feel a lot better being sober and just smoking pot once in awhile or something. The stress of going through the weeks of not being able to use, then use again after a short time is horrible and stressful. I would hate to go through that again.
