i honestly cant wrap my head around why people think this is their best. regardless of how good the production was on the second half, it seriously just flat out lacked ride's presence. those songs would have benefited from ride being on them therefore i don't think it's their best. i would be interested to hear your reasons tho. i've seen that opinion here quite a few times so i'm curious as to why you think that

this is my fav dg release. It's definitely the most diverse album they've put out. One of my biggest problems with NLDW was how every track felt like minimalist beat + MC Ride screaming. Although some of the shorter instrumental tracks bleed together a little, this album has so much variety with its tracks. The ride tracks are some of the best songs in their entire discog and the tracks without ride give such a creepy isolated paranoid vibe. I don't think it's fair to say that they'd be directly better had ride been on them because being just instrumental gives a vibe that would be lost with ride yelling a bunch of gibberish over. If you haven't I'd watch the music videos for them because they helped me appreciate GP a lot more.
