I like it but the synths sound kind of fake. If you have a tube guitar amp, try running them through that and then micing it up next time. Makes them sound a bit more real. If you can run a humanizer on it that's be cool too. Compositionally I think it's great.

I've told you before I love your black metal stuff, it's a great balance of all the different black metal styles popular these days that still doesn't feel average. Could use a little more kick drum in the mix. Darkwave generally isn't my cup of tea but I think you do it pretty well.

I thought the first track was pretty boring but I'm glad I tried a few others. I think you do the darker sound a bit better than the more upbeat stuff. Planets in Bloom was probably my favorite, and I liked Collecting Stars too because of dat funky, almost reggae-ish bass line.

i really really like this. this is my kind of stuff. very surreal sounds and the guitar playing is very nice, great melody/harmony things, very relaxing. the contrast of strange sounds with beautiful guitar is something i'm very fond of. though the guitar playing isn't crazy unique, it serves the function of complimenting the highly interesting sounds very well. really like those woogly synths in har binj her.

i can definitely see why you enjoyed my release after listening to a bit of yours. There's a lot of wacky sounds and spectacular textures, it's something i could really see myself getting lost in. You're able to create a lot of really unique soundscapes with all of the noises at your disposal, but I feel like it's difficult to listen to more than a few tracks at a time. Solid work, man!

Huh. That was definitely an experience and I commend you for managing to at least make the songs recognizable for what they are, in most cases while still being weird as hell. You've got legit cool ideas, but you really need to work on your performances and production. The guitars sound super DI'd and sterile, the drums even more so. There are a lot of rhythmic slips, as well.
Not tryin to be suoer negative, but you have good ideas that you could express much more effectivley if you tried harder.

Yeah the production is something I can definitely work on. I have literally no idea what I'm doing as far as mixing and stuff goes. I was trying to avoid the super mechanized sound that a lot of metal these days has so I let a lot of very "human" performances slide. There are some parts that are sloppier than they need to be, and it's usually the technical parts that would have been really impressive if I'd nailed it or quantized it. Thanks for listening my man. I appreciate you taking the time, because I mostly just get dumped on without explanation here.

The problem with music criticism is that the vast majority of people want to hear something "new" but not actually new. Most progress is made sloooooooowwwwly, so shit that really pushes boundaries is ignored/reviled/blacklisted from venues, etc. This isn't even what i think of when I think of no wave.

Thanks so much dude. It's funny because I totally agree with you about "Pavlov's Heirarchy of Needs". lesbionest, it's a dud. It's my favorite song title out of all of them and I came up with the title before the lyrics and I knew i was never going to be able to do it justice. The music was the second song I had ever written (The Kraken was the first), like 8 years ago, and I just needed both of them out of my hands. Thanks for the review and I'm glad you liked it enough to write about it. After getting actual factual hate mail for this album it's nice to get some positive feedback.
