Most of TWIABP hate comes from their fb drama, since musically it's really hard to hate it, unless you hate post-rock, it's pretty inoffensive in every other way.
They even toned down their nasal/borderline voice crack vocals in this album compared to Whenever.
It also has its moments but they're scarce, considering it's a ~1 Hr album.
i just realized how great lyricists I Hate Myself were

converge wrote some boring hardcore punk albums, then they started writing boring metal albums.
bring me the horizon started as a brutal deathcore band, then started to experiment with more varied textures in their music, and even helped release an album consisting of ambient remixes of their songs, and then this year they released literally the best alternative rock album since like 2003.
call me when converge is done jocking bands that are better than them, all we love we leave behind literally just sounds like touche amore heard mastodon, stupid sludge metal riffs with shitty lyrics and stupid vocals ontop.

I wouldn't say so, i think there's a lot of music discussion. A couple weeks ago people tried to make two separate threads, one without anime and one with it. The ones without anime were just american football, mineral and cap'n jazz all over and they died pretty fast but the emoe threads actually had discussion, even if some of the people posted anime pics. And I don't even like anime but these are my favourite threads nowadays.

I tend to think of them as the musical equivalent of Scream. Sure it's self-aware and often tongue-in-cheek, but they are still firmly in the genre and deliver even if you don't think of them ironically.
