ITT: the superior album

I haven't listened to a lot of Wilco but I really like AM. Did they just completely drop the country rock thing after it?

They kinda kept it alt-country on Being There, but dropped it when they did Summerteeth it seems

Why? I'm no longtime fan so I'm just curious. Did people not like the country thing? I thought AM was great...

Yankee hotel foxtrot is still the best

No idea, I think they were just trying to experiment more as they went along. All of their albums are definitely worth checking out if you're into AM I'd say. Also, check out Uncle Tupelo if you like alt-country, it was Jeff Tweedy's pre-wilco band.

Listened to Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and wasn't big on it. Maybe I'll give Being There a try.

I'm a huge fan of Being There. Specifically because it has the uniqueness of Jay Bennett's production, but still recognizes Wilco's roots as an alt-country band.
For those who didn't know, Jeff Tweedy used to be in an alt-country band called Uncle Tupelo with Jay Farrar (of Son Volt) before he started fucking with Farrar's life.

I think so, I have heard ever wilco album a few times, each one has several awesome parts overall ok but a lot of boring/don't care parts. YHF is the only one that start to finish is greatness I love it to death.
