That's pretty much what post-punk revival is. The original post-punk scene was all about pushing forward and trying new things, post-punk revival is a bunch of hacks trying to sound like either Joy Division or Gang of Four.

Is there any good Krautrock-influenced post-punk with electronic instrumentation that isn't edgy 3spooky5u shit like PiL or This Heat (disclaimer: I like both of these bands), but isn't poppy New Wave faggotry either?
