Meet The Boys is rad. Love the way it's mixed too. Feels like you're there. Raw but polished at the same time too. I think the jam went on a little to long at the start and when the lyrics came in it didn't really feel like a payoff. Definitely could've made that transition a little more explosive to really set it apart as another section of the song. Almost feels like you could have left them out and it wouldn't have made a difference. Still really enjoyed listening to it though. MAYBE dial back the reverb on the guitar a tad just so the notes stand out a little more but desu thats just personal taste so w/e

Checked out Amber. A lot of texture on this one I like it a lot (especially when the distortion set in). I've been going back in forth leaving feedback with threads so I'm probably just starting to burn out but it took a lot of discipline to get through the intro. Maybe not a great "single" choice but I feel like it would be incredible in an extended play context. Thought your use of distortion was really cool it really filled out the song. The electronics added a really interesting element too it added a lot of tone. Really dystopic shit I fucked with it.

>>
>>61032629
I've never performed live at all, but I really want to
I guess I just don't have a fanbase and can't find any fitting venues
>>
>>61032491
Aegorton's shit is pretty gnarly I checked it out in the other thread. In terms of your band its pretty good. Sounds way to similar to nirvana though but with less anger (I think you need a little more anger). Don't really know what to tell you to fix that its mostly just the vocal melodies. I fucking love nirvana though so thats not really criticism just an observation.
>>
>>61032692
Really? I always just assumed Portland had a place for everyone haha. See what you mean about a fanbase though you can't really just pull this shit out at an open mic. I'd recommend getting stickers or something and just plastering em all over. Again, this is an assumption about Portland, but the city seems like the kind of place that if someone noticed your awesome sticker they might actually look it up at some point. It only takes a few people to generate a word of mouth following.

You've got great production skills but the songs dont really seem to have any hook to them. No real "Oh Shit What Is THIS" element to them. Great sense of rhythm but at some point you're just like "where is this taking me". I'm probably just misunderstanding it but it's sort of the thing that's best listened to at the "right time". I don't want to say make it more "accessible" but it's probably just not my thing I dunno. Cool stuff but it didn't really provoke any sort of emotional response.

Listening to Below now, and wow. This is way different than I was expecting

This has a really nice feel when it comes to mood and composition, definitely feels different. I would definitely put it out there that you need to turn your mids wayyy down on the guitar though. It sounds like I'm listening through a wall

I also feel like adding in some unconventional instrumentation could really be a great step forward. Maybe find a friend who plays trumpet or trombone, I can see that working really well

I made this earlier in the year and it was my first try at seriously making electronic music, looking back I completely agree with you on quite a few songs.

Although if you want to hear some songs I think were a bit better on that note, try out the last three (maybe four) songs. The album is kind of back-loaded to me

This shits ill your guitar melodies are on point. I think having a bass (any kind of bass) to add a lower end would help your sound immensely. A little bit of groove never hurt anyone. It could really get you moving.

Not too sure about this. I feel like I've already heard everything from your tunes to your tones, maybe not in math rock but definitely in other genres. Sort of reminds me of those tracks on Guitar Hero that you'd play just to progress to the next level

I don't mean to be too harsh, it's just tough to hear musicians who clearly have some ideas and talent use it to rehash on sounds I've already heard

Once you find your own sound I can see this being pretty ace

I'm working on more composed stuff as of right now. The general consensus I'm getting from people is I should veer away from the more avant-garde, improvised, disconnected sound I had in Home isn't Home, and I certainly agree. >>61033089
Some rough stuff you got there, interesting as fuck though. The discrepancy in volume makes some tracks really hard to listen to, I need to keep adjusting my volume. But overall it's enjoyable and the emotion clearly comes through, which can't be said about too much electronic atmospheric stuff in these threads.

>>61033056
This is awesome. Absolutely wild. A little above my head if I'm being honest but I listened to most of it and at the least found the complexity and diversity of sounds working off of each other really fun to hear.

>>61032134
I like it man. I don't think folk punk is a good way to describe it really, because like you said there's a lot of stuff in there. Am I right to guess there's a lot of Alex G influence?

I think something that would really help you out is cutting down the track listing and rearranging it a bit. The ambient stuff isn't bad, but I think you'll have more luck if you draw people in with some of your more straightforward (for lack of a better word, I don't think they're generic) tracks.

Like, I think your song Flake is really fantastic, I can see myself listening to this often. If you pulled it up to the first track that might give people more motivation to really hear you out.

I think your songwriting is pretty great but the drums sound really fake. The guitars are too lofi for the super hifi drums. And the vocals are a little weak at times. Overall I like it though.
>>61035896
Solid. Good atmosphere and riffs. Guitar tone is a bit too crispy for my tastes. I like that you don't rely on blast beats and are willing to mess around with sloooowww tempos, but also don't rely on long songs to drive the doom home. Good balance of styles.
>>61034861
Absolute fucking fire. I really dig this. The first track is super menacing. Definitely plays to my love of metal and trve grimness. A while back I found an 1st ed. Shadowrun core game book in my local game store for $5. Your music has I'm going to dig that shit out and plan a campaign.
I downloaded your album too.
>>61033539
>https://putridwasteland.bandcamp.com/
Some good stuff, some not as good. The drums take up way too much sonic space in your recordings, which I'm sure is a result of how they were recorded, but still it's something to work on.
>>61033416

The drums are what put this above alot of other noise which is just pretty good. I can dig it.

>>61033110
Very chill. Probably good studying music. The vocals aren't exactly "mediocre", it's just that I don't think they fit the music alot of the time. They move at a faster pace than everything else.

Nice chord progression and I like verb on the vocals. The first synth felt out of place until the beat came in and the I loved it. I really like the somewhat dissonant background vocals. I like the melody. It wanders but in a familiar way.

Great stuff Mister man.

Glad I'm getting some notoriety. It's funny because no matter how much you shit on me I still get reccs every thread.

I actually kind of like >>61044941 's stuff. I'm not gonna say it's as good as Charles Ives, but I'm feeling some comparisons to Ives's "Three Places in New England" insofar as Ives is very evocative of a specific place and this guy's stuff made me feel like I was in Hollywood's idea of a Louisiana swamp.
