I just discovered soulseek. It seems pretty cool so far. What are your thoughts on it? Any downsides I should know about?

The quality can be kind of bad, but for the most part a good amount of 320 kbps downloads are out there. It's more accessible than what.cd or rutracker but there's also less obscure stuff because it's p2p. It's very good though if you are too lazy to get a what.cd account

You just have to work around these things, it's not hard. Search for a song on the album and then you can get the album. The first time I noticed they blocked stuff was when I was searching for the goth band "Sex Gang Children".

I've been on what.cd for a few days and I'm not impressed with how much obscure stuff it has. It's comparable to slsk on that aspect. It's really good if you're after FLACs though.

OP here. Like I said I'm very new and just learning how some things work.
When I first ran the client I set my music folder to be shared, and I changed it to three slots with no limit. I have 100 Mb/s dl speed, but i'm not sure about upload. A few people have downloaded since earlier today.
I've had a pretty good experience on it so far, was able to find a bunch of obscure thigns that I wanted.
I was also able to find flac for all of the things I wanted, so that's a plus.
It's changed a lot since its glory days. It used to be WAY more socially oriented. I still use it though.
