I've listened to a couple of early releases and thought it was kind of shit, filled with really ugly loops and those generic ambient sounds in every shitty bandcamp album ever made.
Do they get better? What releases would you recommend?

I haven't really dived into their old stuff much, but I've heard that a lot of it was samey.
I've really enjoyed these releases from this year though:
Ryuichi Sakamoto, Illuha & Taylor Deupree - Perpetual
Steinbrüchel - Parallel Landscapes
Taylor Deupree & Marcus Fischer - Twine
Perpetual is especially great, very original and interesting whilst being very relaxing at the same time.
