Britpop is much more dated compared to grunge plus they may have been from a similar time period but they are completely different

This. The average britpop album was shit, but it arguably had higher peaks. The average grunge album was alright, with just a few albums reaching ritpop aat its best. Post britpop was infinitely better than post grunge though. Idk shoegaze was better than those two combined.
