imo its a shit genre. It's litterally aids. Prove me wrong /mu/ or do you agree.
>>
i can agree with this
>>
I just started listening to it and it's pretty cool I guess. Makes for some good noise in background and the covers are pretty.
>>
>>60973329
but would you listen to it on car-trips, its loud and obnoxious (vaporwave) and cloudrap is difficult to understand.

It's not literally AIDS :^)
>>
>>60973354
this is so ironic
>>
>>60973353
it's good walking music
>>
>>60973260
i disagree. Yes, vaporwave has simple and unoriginal procedures that date way back to schaeffers musique concrete. Yes it became empty conceptually. But still, it is a simple form of expression for someone who has never tried to produce music before. In time, these people will seek for more and evolve artistically. Lets take that dude frankjavcee for example. I think he started talking about vaporwave on his videos. Now he is researching about noise music and a lot of other stuff. Would he discover this stuff if he never met vaporwave and the relashionship this genre stablish with the internet? Dont think so. Vaporwave is the first genre to fully explore the potentiality of the internet and of the computer both as a mean of production and consumption.

>>60973354
i hate this faggot
>>
>>60973489
Id much rather listen to caporwave than noise music.

Hell, this entire album, even if people may argue about the genre.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uisxTeNUuH4
Most of 骨架的 / Skeleton's discography too.

For more ambient-core stuff. Another one with a great album.

Also please stop associating the entire genre with Floral Shoppe. The more you do, the harder it is to like the genre. Imagine if when listening to metal you always held onto metal as Black Sabbath's first few albums?
>>
>>60973642
is not about taste. is about knowing it exists. whats caporwave btw?
>>
Is 骨架的 / Skeleton the King Crimson of Vaporwave?

OP here, the only one vaporwave song I have enjoyed "a little bit" is one of Com Truises albums. I know Floral Shoppe doesn't define vaporwave but most of the genre is littered with slowed down jazz and reverbed, that it is hard to discover the good ones.
>>
>>60973676
no.
>>
>>60973702
The V key is next to C. Pretty sure he mis-typed.
>>
>>60973353
i'm glad you all hate it so much. fun shit to fishbowl to. some of the stuff is okay with friends and some is better alone but drugs are a must if not then.. that's just fucking weird, don't ever do that.
>>
>>60973642
"noise music", no one listens to that crap.
>>
>>60973752
oh yeah! you can never tell these days.
>>
>>60973752
watch my new album be called caporwave. It's going to redefine the genre, as it breaks down the walls and make vaporwave nameless.
>>
>>60973738
It's that way with any genre desu. It might just not be for you, honestly. It's not really an immediately accessible genre, and it has to strike a certain part of how you think that not everyone has. That stuff i listed isn't even probably half of the stuff considered "good" out there.

I get what you mean about it being hard to find good releases though, especially in a genre that's THIS varied and has had a wave of cheap ironic releases. Wrapping your head around vaporwave takes some time. I tend to just give an ear to anything that's had a lot of hype around it. Honestly, 2814 is what got me into the genre, but something tells me you've already given that artist a listen and weren't a fan.

>waah people aren't spoon-feeding me only the best!

kill yourself if you can't fucking do something as simple as finding music you like on your own.
>>
>>60973914
That's not bad, but this is probably better: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vaporwave/comments/3vslux/essential_vaporwave_songs_would_love_to_make_a/

That's also a little outdated. Also the one in the middle of Broken Transmission is atrocious, so bad it inspired Floral Shoppe 2, an intentional mess.

You got a lame opinion OP but that's your loss. More vaporwave for me.
>>
>>60973489
It stuff like what this anon is talking about that has fueled my listened. I feel like although in the last year a lot of vapor releases have become more "official" (Dream Catalog etc.), used less sampling, and have put forth what seems to be an effort to get away from the Mac+ style, they're sort of missing the point of older releases, and are becoming just ambient with a beat. For perspective I dig stuff like Infinity Frequency's "Dream Recovery". The only hub of activity I know of is r/vaporwave, but its just posts about releases from these boring labels and people showing off cassettes. Anyone have labels to recommend, or places its discussed?

this is that autistic-level bait, but I'll bite anyway. There's decent content within this genre just like any other. You just have to find it. That's it.
