What do you mean everyone else, everyone's been riding Kendrick's dick since the day it came out. To me GKMC was a better album in a number of ways.
It had a better concept, better beats, and didn't have that shitty ass Tupac interview at the end. No AOTY material can have that shit on it, I'm sorry. It's not bad by any means but there were better hip hop albums this year and this isn't even measure up to Kendrick's best material.
I feel like a big reason people like this thing is the album cover. "Look how progressive and accepting I am! There's no way I'm a racist! I like that album with the black men in the White House on it!"

Say what you will, but I love this one. I wouldn't put it at the same level as some of their earlier stuff, but the colossal buildup that is the transition between "asunder, sweet" and "piss crowns are trebled" sounds like a paranoid realization, but in a good way.

That's it for me, hopefully some people found some new stuff and some other people felt really super special by telling random strangers on the internet that their taste is bad. AOTY threads are usually cancerous because nobody listens to new stuff, they just try to assemble a combination of top level pop albums and a bunch of albums nobody has seen before, so they look like they have good taste. If you're going to talk about music (especially new music) in /mu/ that is at least sort of obscure, always put the album cover in to build visual awareness as well as a couple of samples, or if possible a mega download link. The best way to get people to enjoy the music that you enjoy is to share it with them. Most people here have really really good music taste, but they get caught up in nonsensical battles about popular music that everybody's heard. We all explore different things, please spread the good faith by sharing what you find.
