My favorites have to be 2 and 5, although I think 6 is the perfect album closer with the strings releasing all of the tension the album was offering prior.

>tfw you will never listen to this in a forest nearby köln

My favourite is that ambient track that sounds like you're listening to dance music from outside a club. I forget the name...

Listened to Pop the first time a month or two ago, now it's my go-to rainy-day train-ride album
>>
Every album I listen to.

But I'm very behind on music so I get excited about albums you guys probably heard years ago and it probably annoys people on here when I post them. also Tswift's album, but I don't post about her much anymore.
>>
>>60935715
Pop is probably the best Gas album, but Königsforst was my first so it holds a special place in my heart.
I live in NYC, and these albums soundtrack my life way too often. Especially in a night time Tribeca.
>>
>>60935747
What album would you say above any other?
>>
i wonder if he'll ever revive the gas project
he did for a little remix last year

>>
>>60935770
I've never even heard this until now. Thanks, anon.
>>
>>60935768
idk, let's just say Dark Side of the Moon.

It sounds like most people, on here and elsewhere listened to it when they were about 12 or whatever, but I only heard it a few months ago.

Gas (and Wolfgang Voigt for that matter) is amazing. Love all that shit. There is a book the guy made that's like $40 at my local record store, not sure if they still have it. I would like to talk the guy down to $20 since no one has ever bought the fucking thing

Have you ever looked inside the book? What is it like? I get mad whenever people on /mu/ dismiss Gas as nothing more than what >>60935705
did
>>
>>60935903
Same day raved to two. That intro solidified appeal. Fear of a black tangent has alot of that too.
>>
>>60935931
NO because it's wrapped in plastic... and now it's behind a glass case I THINK it's still up for sale. It might be a limited edition picture book. I'm gonna call the store tomorrow and see if it's still there. If so I'm talking the guy down because I'm probably the only one whose into Gas from my part of town, but definitely not the only one in the city (Nashville) Also who the fuck dissed Gas? He's amazing
>>
>>60935888
Yeah, that's a great album. I wish they still used the original artwork. it was way better.
>>
>>60935893
treat yrself for christmas anon it sounds beautiful http://www.forcedexposure.com/Catalog/voigt-wolfgang-gas-book-w-cd/R.N.102CD.html
>>
>>60935957
Wow shit THAT'S THE ONE. Also I didn't know that Forced Exposure was a site. It's the zine where Albini first made shitposts about other hardcore bands
>>
>>60935951
Man, I'll have to look that up. It's already fucking impossible to get any Gas vinyl.
>>
>>60935957
Well, shit. Incoming happy christmas day for me.
>>
>>60935982
There was that blue 2008 reissue but I think that was CD. If Gas was on vinyl...I'd loose my money. That's probably the only rare vinyl I'd buy

You can purchase Gas vinyl, but I think the cheapest it comes it around 150 $ or something wild like that.
>>
>>60935956
What original cover?
>>
>>60935996
No it's mine senpai
>>60936013
Fuck that, that's too much. Although now that I think about it I've never seen a copy on CD either...So fucking glad that shits all on youtube

This beauty. My dad has an original with this cover.
>>
>>60936051
Pretty sure they were included on the reissue CD, judging on the track Nah Und Fern (the title of it). I'm just guessing though.
>>
>>60936053
I thought that was from the 90's CD version.
>>
>>60936066
the description says 'four of the five tracks have never been released or played before' so i'm not quite sure, i have the original albums in my library & not the nah und fern reissue
>>
>>60936095
Yeah, I fucked up. I remembered it as being special, but confused it as just being an original when it's just my favorite rendition of the cover. Oops.
>>
>>60936053
>>60936053
I'm not sure if that's the cover for the OG vinyl or the CD reissue but my dad's (and every other copy from 73-75) has the more traditional flat DSOTM cover. Also it's my favorite album ever. It's got everything you need, space rock, pop, heavy riffs, dreamy soundscapes, emotion. Yeah it's perfect
>>
>>
>>60936120
Yeah I addressed that I was being silly. Was that CD issue the first CD issue though? Might I be strangely right about something?

The whole retro sci-fi/naval warfare theme kicks so much ass. I imagine some epic naval space battle involving MCs and Cats, like a gangsta version of Gundam 0079.

I usually don't give a shit but jesus did Fantano hate this. Cudi has that weird fanbase where he has hardcore fans, and people who fucking despise him. He could have been amazing right after man on the moon but there's that weird thing he has that keeps him from making really great albums. Idk never really got into the guy but kept up with him
>>
>>60936268

It seems like he think he is too good to stick with what made MotM1 and 2 great albums. Almost like he thinks he is kanye and can experiment with any sounds he likes. He is nowhere good enough to do that and I don't know who told him he was.

He should just stick with his original sound and perfect that. He was one of the first to get into that lane and all he had to do was stay there.

Extremely catchy New Zealand Hip Hop about drugs, suicide, and the huge wage equality gap in New Zealand. It's an extremely emotional album.

I never knew things were so fucked up in New Zealand but god damn.

No problem. It was my 2012 AOTY and I'm just happy other people are actually hearing about Home Brew.

Oh man, how do I start...Its essentially the first trance album ever made. The guy who made it, Manuel Gottsching, is the guitarist from the krautrock band Ash Ra Tempel. the story goes that he was going to go on a 24 hour flight or something so he quickly cobbled this hour long track together, playing a guitar solo on the second half. It is one of the most trance inducing pieces I've ever heard. If you have heard Hallogallo by Neu! and similar tracks I'm sure you'll know the sort of hypnotism the krautrockers were trying to induce; well this is a sustained hour of it!

I've been posting this album on here to get people to take note of it because it was just such a shock to me that modern trance does not learn the lessons that this album teaches. The only things that come close are some psytrance and ambient, but this is something else. Its groove is so hypnotic and it just locks you in as it builds. It might not be for you, but please give it a listen just in case.
>>
>>60936680
Not that guy but you convinced me to download the album. I'll be listening to it for the first time when I finish the next 2 albums I have queued up.
