What albums do you feel got underrated (by RYM / critics / Scaruffi / mu) this year?

Maybe it's because of that, because i like divorce lawyers and that felt like it was a letdown. It wasn't bad but everyone was waiting for something like it.
My pick is Thrill Addict by Peter Kernel , one of my AOTYs for sure but I see no-one talking about it. Great art punk or whatever they call it.

Seriously, that album is really, really good. Solid 9/10 for me.

although it did just get nominated for packaging which is funny since I think its horrible. same with indie cindy which got nominated for that last year as I recall. I guess the more obnoxious the packaging is the better chance it has of getting noticed.

god, I was so into this album when it came out, I have like 40 listens on it, bought the vinyl, everything

Literally came here to post this. Amanda Berry is one of the most cognitive dissonance-inducing things I've ever heard
I dunno that it was underrated per se, but it wasn't even talked about outside of the prog community. Solid 8/10 though, it's experimental, but not so much it will turn someone new to the genre away.
