I like some newer swans stuff. Truth be told, I actually haven't listened to a whole swans album in its entirety.
And I love St. Vincent.
What's funny is, Annie Clark does guest vocals on the album To Be Kind and John Congleton, the engineer of that album, produced and cowrote most of St. Vincent's albums.
Try as I might, I just can't get into Zappa. I recognize his immense talent as well as all the musicians he associated with, but that doesn't really make his music fun to listen to for me.

Autechre and VU mainly because they've been superseded. Their sounds were both innovative when they were first making music, but today people have incorporated enough elements of their work into their own work that it doesn't feel unique to my ears. Funny how being influential can do that.
Dylan, mostly because his stuff seems more like entertainment than art, like his whole shtick is to seem profound while really just telling stories with random magical-realism pop culture references.

So the Seinfeld issue, basically. That's a shame because both really are fantastic artists in their crafts on the "base" merits, regardless of how they've been copied. I still think that Autechre's work after 2001 stands out though, I haven't heard anything exactly like Quaristice or Draft or even the live sets they've been doing; mostly because many artists (surprisingly) still haven't experimented more with MAX like they do.
I see your point with Dylan, that's an issue many people have, but he really could craft tunes that resonated with people. Sure, people Phil Ochs was much more biting and sharp with his lyricism, but Dylan had a much stronger way with melody imo.
