>>60891734
i love mark, he's based as fuck, but i firmly believe that he could get every single vote and pitchfork still wouldn't put him there. that's why i'm putting my vote towards someone that they might give it to.

SB2H tonight?

hope so

I don't think they will review it. Its a total disaster, nobody likes it. Low quality, not very good.

I could see them giving it a 0.0 just for the inevitable pageviews

Come on. P4K shines when they're panning shit. Their review of Childish Gambino's Camp is still absolute gold.

what

>>60891837
possible
I wonder if The Ark Work will be addressed at all in their end of year lists, they definitely refused to review it on purpose.
>>
>>60891872
they did review ark work tho
>>
>>60891812
i don't think they'd do that
travistan absolutely destroyed travis morrison's solo career. someone from p4k commented saying that they'll probably never be able to do that again, just because they're not in it to destroy artists careers (unless the artist pisses them off, see mark kozelek).

>>60891872
speaking of deliberately not reviewing shit, floridada when?
>>
>>60891872
or they decided to subject the world to only one shitty poser faux black metal album that all the other indie blogs would then immediately have to pretend to like for muh eclecticism

oh i missed that we were talking about TMT, but that just helps my point - they fucking PANNED Deafheaven (and called out a bunch of other "hipster metal" at the same time). why would they be kinder to TAW?
>>
>>60891978
because Liturgy is nothing like Deafheaven
and Liturgy is meme-tier "post-internet" music that TMT reviewers would cream themselves over

even if it was a 0/5 review, it still would have been a 20,000 word essay on the album

the fact that they just ignored it is quite sad honestly, would've been a very interesting read, negative or positive

the band that is the reason pitchfork exists today got an 8.5 but no BNR and got snubbed in the front spot for some shitty meme film OST
fuck this kuck site
>>
Guess they didn't review Late Nights since they gave TVU an 8.5 and they will almost certainly give LN a 8.9-9.3 bnm
>>
>>60892039
their whole point in the Deafheaven review was that Deafheaven (and Agalloch and Deathspell Omega and...) fundamentally went against the genre constructs of black metal in a way that was inappropriate. Liturgy position themselves as making an entirely new genre of black metal, transcendental black metal, that is a complete hyperbolic sham for them to be able to make the kind of shitty synthesis that bands like Deafheaven, Alcest, etc. (granted, by dipping fingers in different pies) generate. i'm glad TMT didn't waste their time on Liturgy's bullshit.

>fundamentally went against the genre constructs of black metal in a way that was inappropriate
that's not necessarily the same case with TAW since the point was to meld genre tropes that were intentionally inappropriate and in bad taste
I'm not here in praise of either album, but you can't put them in the same basket and review them in that way.
> i'm glad TMT didn't waste their time on Liturgy's bullshit.
well that's just no fun desu senpai baka

i can't wait to hear this. i'm legitimately curious. is it just that they pioneered the "alternative" subculture of music?
