Sup guys, there was a period in time where I almost exclusively listened to hip hop. I feel like qualitatively the genre has been on a decline. I really dislike rappers like Big Sean, Young Thug, and Future. The subject matter always strikes me as outright unintelligent. I like "music" too, but this stuff just sounds bad to me. I like all the classic albums too but even the new rap that is "lyrical" comes off as stale to me. Like I appreciated Joey Badass' 1999, but by the time b4da$$ came out I became so sick of him.
What I'm trying to say is I just want to hear some unique hip hop. Not necessarily intelligent, but creative in the least. Not talking about Aesop Rock or obvious people like that. I am well-versed in the genre so post some relatively obscure shit.

You're gonna hate me for this, but I feel like he's avant-garde by accident. He doesn't come off as a creative individual, but just a lazy excuse of a musician.
You should check out Linkin Park - In The end

>I really like Joey bada$$
Top kek friendo, enjoy your stale aas throwback while the rest of us enjoy the golden age of insane hip hop

I feel like a lot of his stuff can be pretty stale just because there's no change or progression in his music. 1999 was good though, and Summer Knights was decent.

Yes, I really like some of Ratkings projects.

This, OP

I don't agree with you but that's fair I guess
Here's some stuff that's more traditionally "experimental", so to speak, you might know some of it though

If you said to me "I want a hip-hop artist who's not necessarily conscious or lyrical, but unique and creative", Young Thug would definitely be my first response
It seemed like a bit of a contradiction to me is all
Calm down
You're probably gonna love Travis Scott, he's really good with the beat switch ups and really good at putting together a album where none of the songs sound alike.
