This is really good music. He abandoned all the expectations of him as a famous rapper. The guitars are good, the drums are great and Cudi knows how to write songs. He's a free man following his heart, honouring his vision and writing a plethora of emotionally invested songs.

I don't get the extreme response to this album. Sure it's not great, and it's absolutely not what you were probably expecting, but is it completely devoid of anything even alright? I don't think so. It's not even really hip-hop. I'd give it a solid 4/10. There's a lot worse out there.
