i felt like the drumwork could've been more detailed. i also felt that the song should've had a nice, airy background synth or guitar.

I just checked your soundcloud out. It appears that you have samples as well! Wow! who would've thought that you too could make music using others music. However, it seems that you have not completely grasped how to sample well, as apparent in your music. You see, sampling takes a lot of effort and creativity, especially since you're working with pre-existing content and it appears that you have not understood this and you definitely need improvement in that department.
