Dadrock as a genre means that the music only really had significance as popular music in the time it was conceived and is now carried like a bible of good music by the men who lived through that generation into this one.
Dadrock isn't bad by any means but stuff like Boston and Thin Lizzy were really meant to be dialogue for the generation that music was made in and as such don't hold up as well over time.
Can still has relevance outside of its time frame as it's attempted to speak to more universal audience when that music was made and as such the things that Can were trying to speak to musically are still quite relevant by today's standards.
That's just how pop music works to be honest.
It's prog but I wacky prog so I like it! It doesn't take itself seriously like other prog!
