I can't help but feel a bit disappointed by this album since I watched a documentary on him, and his friends said that they didn't think that the album capture his talent and concept too well.

The debut feels like a more honest representation of him as an artist than the s/t though, no? That one feels excessively camp to the point of parody. It's a shame his opera was never finished. :|
