I disagree, I'm a professional musician, when I make a concert with my real band, playing or own "not entry music" we can get 100-200 in a concert hall, and this band has being active for 1 year with an EP promotion, videos, web...
But when I take a group of musicians who started to play together a month ago and play pop songs, classic rock covers or any tribute band, I can get easily 500 people or more without any promotional videos, recordings, or investing in promotion.
The same happen with the other members of my main band, we like to make our own original music, and we don't give a fuck about most of the music we play with the other projects, but we need to eat and pay the rent.
