America liked Hip-Hop and Rock subgenres too much so why would anyone bother making dance music when no one will listen to it there. You can tell US music 'publications' don't know what the fuck they are on about simply because they call it EDM like that means anything and talk about it like it's a totally new thing that hasn't been around since the early 80s.
