>tfw someone likes the same obscure band you do
You know the answer right? If not, off yourself.
What is the reason you feel like this ?
>tfw you introduce your friends to some bands and they end up liking them
>>60709380
>tfw someone poops on your chest
>>60709380
I sometimes feel this way but usually its another musician stumbling upon a band whose sound i've been ripping off
>>60709434
>tfw got pooped on my left arm by a random girl once
>>60709417
hahah great pic
I get really excited when I meet someone else who likes a lesser known band.

>Listening to popular music
call us when you graduate to art music or ethnomusicology
>>60709707
This. The only time I ever get annoyed about people liking the music I like is if they are generally awful people and make me reconsider why I like the music, which leads me to consider why I care about that at all, which leads me to consider whether or not I'm not just another smug elitist prick.
What's stopping me from stealing someone's riff and then putting it in a constant loop and I just reverb the fuck out of it and feed it plugins until it sounds like popcorn in the microwave and then I just record myself screaming and layer it 3 minutes in and finish "my song" and then I photoshop a picture of wooden baby blocks next to a pyramid and slap a name on it like "nutseed library" and then I keep doing this until you faggots find my shit and start eating it up

ugh
you realise the guy who first penned the notion of the axiomatic triangle LOVES poplar music, right?
he created a foundation devoted to its study. he never intended in any way for idiots like yourself to use the concept as a way to dismiss huge portions of music in the way you are. poor guy would probably kill himself if he found out how you were misinterpreting and misusing his work.
have you even read his essays?
I bet you haven't. kill yourself buddy.

The divisions are widely accepted by musicologists and academics. Its not something one person "penned" perhaps the exact words "axiomatic triangle" but not the general divisions between art, popular and traditional musics.
Why listen to popular music when you can listen to music written by trained composers who actually know what they're doing? Why listen to popular music when you can listen to music passed down over centuries of performance traditions?
Why waste your time on manufactured music written by plebs, for plebs?
What band is it? Guarantee you it's not as 'obscure' as you think.
>>60709720
God you are an insufferable prick. Kill yourself.
>>60709811
>The divisions are widely accepted by musicologists and academics
There's a difference between a division in kind and a division in quality, and no intelligent person will tell you that the lines aren't blurry.
It seems to me with a mindset like this that you really don't like music at all. You like instead, the status you think that listening to certain kinds of music gives you.
It doesn't. You look like an asshole.

Animal Collective
really? i usually get excited and use it to launch a conversation. i don't have a lot of friends to talk about music with so it's nice.
>>60709898
Are you fucking serious right now?
>>60709720
I hope for your sake this is bait
>>60709960
It's got /mu/core albums in the "popular music" section, if it wasn't bait then it would have much more famous records there instead.
>>60709434
bernie sanders?
>>60709909
>he thinks I'm joking
fuck off newfag
>>60710128
Animal Collective aren't obscure you fucking idiot...
>>60710141
Dude, don't take the bait
>>60709720
>traditional folk music
>not popular music
LMAOing @ youre life
>>60709380
>but they actually only like one song and know of one album
>find out someone likes similar music as me
>can't help but think they're a pretentious faggot
>regardless of what that implies about myself
