Early electronica hasn't aged well. You have to think about it in the context of when it came out.
>>
td is still that fresh dank
>>
>>60705717
it's just a genre that date easily in general, no matter the time period. i can't think of much from the 90s that aged well either.
>>
>>60705717

I don't even mind the sound palette desu but the compositions themselves that are snoozers.
>>
It sounds old but it aged really well compared to corny rubbish like Jean Michel Jarre

Arpeggiation is the new black

>corny rubbish like Jean Michel Jarre
LOL. Tell me how a track like Oxygene 2 is "corny rubbish": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek5u5jl7Ads

Jarre's music not only aged better, but it was also a massive inspiration for many trance producers.

>inspiration for many trance producers.
lad you sort of just answered your own question lol

I don't even mind jarre, but he's cheese man

Orbital >>>> The Orb
>>
>>60708076
It's not cheesy, idiot. If that piece doesn't move you, you're a pleb.
>>
>>60705717
Some of it has just out of style. On the other hand, Mike Oldfield still sounds great
>>
>>60708079
i guess i can agree...
>>
There are certainly more overrated albums.
Phaedra is just a nice moment in time. Nothing too exciting, but consistently pleasant.
>>
>>60710629
i mean, i'd say that maybe the orb were more consistently smooth, as orbital lost me around '94 (never liked in sides - unpopular opinion, i know) but the highs of orbital were so much higher imo.
>>
>>60710809
what's your favorite orbital album ?
>>
>>60710953
eh, i suppose i'd say orbital 2, but radiccio/halcyon and lush 3 are some of my favorite releases. III is also great - love this track

Say what you want about Phaedra but this one is still one of the best ambient records ever released
>>
>>60708079

The Orbs recent album is dope as fuck though
>>
>>60711121
